Nowadays, we need online accounts for numerous services, besides email. Unfortunately, each service has different requirements for the account's password, which makes it difficult to remember all passwords. If you don't want to write down your login credentials in a notebook, where anyone can read them, then you should use a specialized application on your computer. Enpass (formerly known as Walletx) allows you to store sensitive information in an encrypted and password-protected database. You can save any information you want, from login details, to information about your car or your bank account.

The application is available for all major platforms, like Windows and Mac, as well as various mobile devices, such as iOS, Android, Windows or Symbian. It can be installed in just a few seconds, on all platforms, without going through any complicated settings. Enpass doesn't have any special requirements and it does not use too much disk space, RAM or processing power.

When launched for the first time, the application will present a series of options, for creating a new database, opening an existing one and so on. Creating a database does not involve anything more than typing and re-typing a password. Once your database is created, you can open it at any time, by running the application and providing your master password. Although Enpass spares you from remembering countless passwords, you still have to remember the master password for your databases, because it can't be recovered if you lose it.

Database entries can be created in various categories, which are listed on the left side of the user interface. When you create a new entry, the application will place several templates at your disposal, depending on the selected category. For example, if you create an entry in the Login category, you will find templates for Yahoo, Google, Facebook and many other online services. The entries themselves can be created just by filling in the relevant information in a series of input fields. The inserted information is displayed on the main interface, along with options for hiding or revealing passwords, opening URLs or copying the information to the clipboard. For security purposes, the application can be set to lock the database automatically after a certain number of seconds or when the main window is inactive.

In certain cases, like Login credentials, you have to fill in the same type of input fields, while in other situations, you will find different input fields. The best part is that all templates include the necessary input fields for any information you need to remember. What's more, Enpass allows you to create your own folders, beneath the existing categories, so you can organize your database entries however you want. The application synchronization capabilities are another feature that is definitely worth mentioning. It can automatically synchronize your information on DropBox or OneDrive, to make it available on multiple computers or mobile devices.

Pros

You can store information in a password-protected database. The application allows you to save almost any information you can think of. Furthermore, it is capable of synchronizing the information between several computers or mobile devices.

Cons

The application doesn't include any tools for creating custom templates. With its powerful security capabilities, Enpass allows you to protect any information you want, from bank account details to your shoe size.
